The registry contains listings of Michigan banks and bank holding companies, credit unions, associate members, regulators and federal agencies. Consumer Lending Forms
MBA Service Corporation provides consumer lending forms at a competitive price to member banks. The forms are fully compliant with Michigan Lending Law and are kept up-to-date by Warner Norcross & Judd, LLP. Forms are generally purchased by the bank for distribution to their dealers. Forms can be customized to the bank’s liking and are currently being ordered by a large number of banks across the State.

Record Retention & Destruction Manual
The fourth edition of the MBA Record Retention and Destruction Manual has been created as a tool for the use of banks in the state of Michigan and their counsel in attempting to resolve the never-ending problems concerning the length of time a bank should retain the many records generated by its operations. Since the third edition, there have been a number of changes in the laws regulating record retention, and additional laws have been enacted that impose, or make advisable, new record retention requirements. The statutory and regulatory enactments that have been reflected in the Manual include the following:

  • Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (“FACT Act”)
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPPA”)
  • Michigan Consumer Mortgage Protection Act
  • Michigan Creditor Placed Insurance Statute
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002
  • USA PATRIOT Act
