During the past two years, ten interest groups of Michigan bankers have met quarterly to exchange ideas with their peers. The ten existing interest groups are

• Senior Lenders
• Human Resources Directors
• Senior Marketing Directors
• CRA Officers
• Bank Security Officers
• CFOs/Controllers
• Senior Operations Directors
• CEOs
• Compliance Officer
• Branch Administrators

These forums provide an effective and professionally led exchange and offer a rewarding experience for professional as well as personal growth.

Forums provide non-competing bankers in the same functional areas of banking, an opportunity to freely exchange ideas, dissect problems, and discuss important information with their peers. To allow for a good exchange of information, the groups consist of 12-15 bankers. Members are encouraged to contact one another at any time to discuss issues as they arise. Participants often form lasting relationships with their peers in the group.

Professional facilitators with strong banking and specialty departmental backgrounds facilitate these sessions. At the request of the group, consultants or experts from a variety of firms are invited to address the group on a topic of common interest. This experience would cost thousands of dollars if you had to pay for it on a “real time” basis.
