The MBA would like to thank Mike McLauchlan, Comerica Bank; Kim Schmidt, Community Central Bank; Tom Bernasconi, Warren Bank; Paul Socia, Citizens State Bank; and Bob McGovern, Chase Bank, for attending a recent grassroots meeting with State Senator Alan Sanborn on Friday, September 21 at Citizens State Bank in New Baltimore. Participants discussed current issues facing the banking industry, including the rising number of foreclosures in Michigan.

The MBA would like to thank United Bank of Michigan in Grand Rapids for hosting the MBA Grassroots meeting on August 29 with Speaker Pro Tempore Michael Sak. The MBA would like to thank all the bankers who participated in the August 6th Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting with U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow. Ann Arbor Commerce Bank, United Bank & Trust, University Bank, Fifth Third Bank, and the Bank of Ann Arbor all had representatives in attendance. Members had the opportunity to speak one on one on several banking issues being discussed in the U.S. Senate.
